Balut – Exotic Philippine Food

We all eat food and eat all almost any kind of food. Filipino who loves to eat exotic food is very strange and some said; one man’s delicacy may just be another man’s nightmare. A famous among the exotic foods in the Philippines, Balut is known to be an excellent source of energy and an aphrodisiac. You don’t need a cooking recipe for you to cook, just boil the egg like cooking or boiling a regular egg and eaten with salt.

Balut is a Duck egg incubated for 17 to 19days. Incubating eggs is not easy to do, along the way; the fertilized egg can die before it reaches the ideal maturity date. It starts to rot inside the shell if the ebryo stops to develop before it reaches the ideal maturity date. As a result, you can still have to try “abnoy” or “bugok in visayan”, a rotten egg delicacy that requires an acquired taste. If you are adventurous then why don’t you venture something new to your cooking recipe?

I’m sure you’re hungry after reading about Balut delicacy. If you’re curious about it, then go to street vendors at night and buy some. You can still taste this popular exotic food with your own cooking recipe, adobong balut perhaps.
